Dragon Fire cookers |
|
|
|
Hello and thanks to all for the forum and the helpful information it offers.
I'm considering the purchase of a BGE or a Dragon Fire. The Dragon Fire seems to be a better deal (About $100 cheaper) and even seems to have some better features (stainless bands), but I cannot find ANY reviews regarding quality, heat retention (efficiency) etcetera. Is the Dragon Fire just too new to the market? For me $600 - $800 is a lot of money and I want to spend it wisely.
Any help / guidance is sincerely appreciated.
Rob

No worries - I just moved this to sales, parts & repairs...
I just saw the Dragon Fire site for the first time yesterday. They look very nice in the brochure: Dragon Fire
But they are so new I have heard nothing about service or longevity.
I like all the features. They mention the exterior is glazed, implying these are a fired ceramic and not a castable. The springs look a little weak for the long haul, but provided the warranty support was sound, this would be very tempting.
Anyone else heard about these? _________________ Don't Be A Richard |

Looks like a nice piece. I like the lid damper and the stainless bands as well. Pretty sure thet there was a thread on the BGE forum last week with some feedback. Do a search there.
Whatever you do---do not buy a cement Kooker from RJ and his band of crooks. |

Thanks for the tips. I took a look at the 'Eggheads' forum, but found no reference to the Dragon Fire. Do you have a link?
Thanks again. |

The egg forum wraps pretty quickly. Also, discussions of competitors is usually frowned upon, so it might have been deleted. |

Went back to the BGE forum but could'nt find anything, don't have much time to look though. I believe the post was titled "Knock off" or something similar. There were quite a few replies so I don't think it was bumped off.
Even had a link to the sales brochere. No one there had seen or used one of these either FWIW. |
