Two Years and Waiting for a Firebox |
|
|
|
Another happy kustomer:
Quote: | Posted by Groucho on Saturday, July 12, 2008 - 12:40 pm:
Nearly two years ago the firebox for my #7 broke, and I requested a
new one. It arrived, but was broken. I worked with customer service to
have the shipper refund the shipping costs, and a new firebox was
shipped. Unfortunately, it was a firebox for a #3. I've called
customer service several times, talked to people, left messages, sent
emails, and still no #7 firebox. They say the Forum is not for
contacting customer service, but I don't know what else to do. No
responses to my multiple emails and phone calls. It's been nearly two
years and still no firebox.
Caveat emptor.

I don't think they can make it through a whole week without someone posting they can't reach anyone and can't get an issue resolved. |

Admin, I think someone (you, lol) should total up the number of these posts and post a sticky with the totals. |

Might add posts that say they can't get a phone or email response. |

I put a plug in wikipedia for the fraud forum, by the way...
I was thinking... To legitimize this forum, it might be a good idea to put a header in for "other" K manufacturers... Not that we'll actually see anything posted there, but it does legitimize things (as I tried to do in wikipedia)
Yes, It is I... BBQMEISTER... I was banned on the K forum for posting about the fact that I can't get through. When I complained to Richard, he suggested via email that I MAKE AN APPOINTMENT to call him.
How in HELL do these people actually sell anything?

They don't. With very few exceptions, that gig ended a year or two ago. You gotta have REALLY bad karma to be one of the few that manage to get through to place an order and pay something. Fortunately most are spared.
But for those few who do somehow manage to get through and pay them for an order, you may rest assured that your financial loss is not in vain. Your funds will be used to pay for materials and labor so that some random order placed 6 or more months ago will be fulfilled.*
What? The other ceramic manufacturers don't do that? You mean that's not an acceptable business model?
*and lo... There will be great rejoicing among the fanboy(s?). For they will have proof the naysayers shall be struck down. |

Unreal. Sorry for your troubles, but at least you know you're not alone. Welcome aboard.

Yep, the Johnsons and their fanboys read this forum, too. Who can blame them, its the only place they can see half of the postings before they are removed.
You just need to be more discreet next time. |

Nah. Leave the wikipedia article alone. Their volunteer editors are pretty strict. I've heard they even refused a reference to The Naked Whiz's site... reportedly said it was too commercial!
Frankly that whole article is terrible. It needs disambiguation. There should be multiple articles... one on the ancient Japanese kitchen appliance and another on the charcoal cookers we covet. In fact, there could (should?) be entries on each of the manufacturers.
No, I'm not volunteering to write any of it. |

I too like the scoreboard idea.
If anyone knows Groucho's email please send to me. I'm wondering about that #3 firebox he has; maybe it's actually for a #5! Or maybe I can make it work. I need a fire ring for a #5.
I want to ask if I can buy it. |
