Kamado Rip Off reaches the South Pacific |

Call me naive but here is my story.
Having carefully specked out the Kamados for myself and a gift for my brother and taking time to ensure I had all the bases covered by dealing with the "original" Kamado patent holder I decided to place the order for my two Kamados.
The service to date from the "Kamado" team had been exemplary with emails back every day, pro-forma invoices and technical help on how the Kamado would work, the accessories I would need, tile choices and colors etc.
I'm an experienced business person who is used to importing from Asia and India but in this case I decided the service and support was so good I didn't need to wait for the shipping papers from the freight forwarder, I could just pay this one up-front ( and lets face it I was hardly dealing with the Chinese or India, this was the USA!!)
What a mistake !!
As soon as I had paid the money I stopped getting replies to my emails, couldn't get an answer by phone and then I found this site.....bugger!
I'm now resigned to never getting my Kamados however if anyone knows some Hells Angels near Richards place I am happy to hire them to collect my debt !!
DON'T DEAL WITH RICHARD OR HIS COMPANY.....
If anyone knows a real Kamado company that has good products please post me...thx Pat |

Pat...
Go have a look at www.KomodoKamado.com
Much better product...
Much better service...
And MUCH closer to you as well (they are built in Indonesia).
They cost a bit more, but are worth the difference. You get what you pay for (unless you bought a Kamado) (sorry, couldn't resist) |

Pat-
Sucks... Kamado is under new ownership, but they didn't buy debt. You may be able to work something out with them. Check the website.. it's still pretty rudimentry as the change in ownership happened just a week or so ago.
Not sure if they can do anything or even if the new team is better than the old (though they would almost have to be since they at least answer the phone). THey are making the right noises and seem to be trying to help those stranded with orders in and no product out. Cant' hurt to write them and ask. |

I would definitely give the new folks a call... certainly can't hurt.
I would also check out the KomodoKamado.
Good luck, sorry for your pain.
