away. The spider is about to fall out and the unit is cracked from top

#3 (the coating is flaking away but this just cosmetic).
I need a replacement for this baby (it is covered with green, 1"
tiles) and I am hoping that I can just remove the SS band/hinge
arrangement and attach the replacement top myself.
My understanding is that this covered by warranty (except the
shipping).

I then followed up with pictures you requested. Since then the spider
and the entire collar have broken off.
