I am curious as to what things I need to do and what things I need to consider to do with my K's when they arrive. Also, is there a breakdown of the break-in process (detailed, step-by-step sort of thing)? Do the tiles need to be sealed (Seattle, WA)? Does silicon need to be put around the felt seal (read a post stating to do this)? What else is there that should be done?

OK Todd, here's what you need to do.
1. Go to Home Depot and learn how to install tile, that will come into play within a year probably.
2. Get a book on how to repair portland cement structures.
3. Seal the tiles every 2 weeks. But this is very important, don't seal them until they have completely oozed all of the water and moisture out, which will probably be after most of them fall off.
4. Replace the wheels, they are to small and cheap for such a weighty object.
5. Throw the warrenty away, it's worthless as soon as the unit leaves the boneyard.
6. Learn Kamado forum etiquet;
a. never, never post a negative comment
b. never, never post anything in the Who's Who thread that does not
belong there.
c. never post anything to the forum that has anything to do with a
warrenty...remember, that no longer exists. |
