HELP -- BROKEN DAMPER |

I could really use some help with a major problem with my K7. My
damper got stuck and after trying for several days to open it the
damper broke at where it mounts to the top of the K! What actually
broke was the fixture that holds the bolt that the ¾” threaded rod
goes into. The rod remains firmly stuck to the bolt. I’m struggling
to
determine what to do next. I’m not sure if there’s a way to repair
this. To make matters worse, the top of the K has 3 cracks where the 3
metal arms of the bolt attachment were sealed in the flue. These
cracks run a couple of inches each.
I’ve called the customer service line several times on both numbers
over the last several weeks and have never received a return call.
What’s up with that?!
Does anyone have any suggestions or perhaps the top of a Cobalt Blue
K7 they’d like to sell? |
And what would be a cry for help without the patented Kamado reply?

This may not help you but may for others who have not broken the bracket. I have secured two nuts on the end of the bolt. (The first is a stop nut.) This allows me to use an extended 1/2 inch drive rachet to nudge the damper free. |
